Kits Annual Awards Ceremony 2013/14
Calderdale and Kirklees leading Engineering Training Provider, Kirkdale Industrial Training Services, held its Annual Awards Ceremony at the Cedar Court
Hotel, Ainley Top, Huddersfield on 14 May 2014. The event is held every year to celebrate and recognise the achievement of learners and apprentices,
predominantly in the 16-21 years age category.
This Prize Presentation Event was very well attended with around 300 people, made up of award recipients, family, friends, employer representatives and a
host of key partners who sponsored the Event.
West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Mark Burns-Williamson OBE, was the Guest Speaker, and commented “It is really great to be invited to be Guest
of Honour at KITS’ Annual Award Ceremony. It is important that we recognise the achievement of the learners in gaining apprenticeships and qualifications that
will stand them in good stead throughout their career and their life”.
Over 100 certificates and special awards ranging from ‘Best Mechanical Apprentice’ to ‘Overall Apprentice of the Year’ were presented on the evening.
Ryan Hall Received ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award. Ryan is employed at Cengar Limited.
David Todhunter, Chief Executive said “Tonight has seen the largest ever number of awards presented. I am grateful to all of KITS’ partners and stakeholders for
their support over the year, and we wish our learners and apprentices continued success in their theoretical and vocational training”.
KITS has been delivering Mechanical, Engineering, Electrical Fabrication and Motor Vehicle apprenticeship training for 20 years at their purpose-built site in
Brighouse; KITS has recently achieved a Grade 2 “Good” across all areas, in its Ofsted Inspection in January 2014.
